Hey Lads.

Looking at getting the Mrs a newer car. The car Im looking at ran out of rego last month. If we go ahead and buy the car what is the best way to register it.

Should I go register it in the owners name then transfer it into mine or simply fill out the transfer papers and hope they will allow me to transfer unregistered then register it.

Just need to both sign the form at the bottom of the most recent rego papers for the car, and then you can just register it in your name straight away. :)

If he doesn't have the rego papers, there's another form you can get from transport SA to notify of the sale of the car.
