It's basically whatever the buyer is willing to pay, and whatever the seller is willing to sell for.
I don't know of too many 'average' Walkinshaw's getting around, so you might have to up the budget to near $30k, if your keen on one of these.

Yeah i'd say you'd be looking around the 30k mark, won't find many much cheaper than that.

Mid 30's at least. I saw a walky down the local cruise spot on friday night and my mate offered this guy to drive back to his house and he'd give him 35,000 cash. The Driver of the walky basically told him to get f$%ked

This was my experience...

I bought my Walky about two years ago. It was (and is) in extremely good but not perfect condition with 132000kms on the clock. The car had been advertised in Unique Cars earlier for $30000, but I didn't know that until after I had bought it. When I knew it was for sale the asking price was $25000 and I paid $23500 after negotiating.

It all depends on condition, and kms really......

But there are some out there that are both that go for a steal. Right place right time I guess....

Good condition low km walky's go for close to $30k... the lesser the condition/higher the kms then the price drops...

Immaculate low kms walky's with mods go higher again...

Immaculate low kms walky's with mods go higher again...

Immaculate Walkinshaws with low kms with NO mods go higher again...

My mate has a oringinal Walky that has no engine mods and only 3,000kms
I reckon he could get around 50k for it (that's if he ever wanted to sell ;) )

oh ok, thanks for that guys. I saw in uneek cars a while ago an original walky with 19", it was either a blower or NOS it had and was pumping out over 300kW and 32 was the asking price... thaught that would have been top dollar!

I think a VK group A might be the way to go, I
just want a tough aussie 8 and i take a liking
to the walky and vkgpa.

Go a stocko walky, and then do it up the way you want to! If you get one with moderate km's and above average paint, then you shouldn't pay top dollar, but still get a very nice car... Then your not paying for someone else's mods that you may not want.

Good luck, and keep me posted!

I paid 23k for mine, with full service history, immaculate interior and underbody and very clean outside. It also has had a fair bit of engine work, with big cam, and a stainless 3 inch exhaust. I have still got the original radio and speakers in a box too. Then again I was extremely lucky, as I was the first person to see it, and the guy accepted my offer.
Anything over 30k really is a little high for a walky, unless it it is in show room condition and has about 30,000k's. Then you have to ask yourself whether you would ever drive it. There is a guy trying to sell one in Canberra for about 6 months now for 31k, and no buyers. The other expensive ones have had wild mods done, and again you need to question whether you want that.
On the insurance issue, I only pay $1,650 per year for mine, and that is with a 25 year old driver.

Hey walkie just out of curiousity how much will insurance give you if it gets flogged or if you write it off....
I mean whats the market value of a walkie?
Or have you got an agreed value?

I just had a look on the Carpoint website used car valuations. The prices seem a bit low to me...

Private sale $16900 - $20700

Dealer retail $25000

Trade in $13700 - $18800

304 old school tech would be a HDT VL SS with carby, the walkinshaw however is new school tech, twin thrott fuel injected.

Theres one in Perth for sale now, some Football players, its his daily driver, but is also used for serious racing at barbagello. It puts out 450hp to the treads if memory serves right. The original interior is wrapped in plastic, same goes for the original engine. I believe he has all the original parts too. Its a pretty serious bit of work, runs on FR18s also, looks tight...

See if you can get a copy of Perth Street Magazine, has his contact details in there. The walky is on front cover....

yeh around the 25 mark or a bit under...

they arent farkn priceless yet, as some ppl believe when they put rediculous prices on em.

but give em another 10 years and they'll probably double in price.
